About the Artist Talk.

Artists Edgar Ramirez & Claudia V. Solórzano join TMR Executive & Artistic Director César García-Alvarez for a casual IG Live conversation that will explore the concept of home and the way it manifests across their practices. This artist talk series, titled Jangueo, is staged in conjunction with TMR’s current exhibition, Aqux, that brings together 23 Latinx artists to re-imagine ideas about home and the ways it shapes our sense of personhood.

About the Artists.

Edgar Ramirez is a painter based in Los Angeles. He received his MFA from ArtCenter College of Design, Pasadena, in 2020, and his BFA, Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles in 2018. His work has been featured in one and two-person exhibitions at Show Gallery, Los Angeles; ArtCenter College of Design, Pasadena; The Watermark Beverly Hills, and Substrate Gallery, Los Angeles, among others. In 2021, he was awarded the inaugural residency at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP, Los Angeles.

Claudia V. Solórzano is a ceramicist who lives and works in Los Angeles. She received her BFA in Ceramics from the California State University Long Beach in 2017 and is a current MFA candidate from Claremont University in (co 2022). Her work has been exhibited throughout Los Angeles, including, East Gallery, Claremont (2021); New Wight Gallery, UCLA (2021); Dr. Maxine Merlino Gallery, Long Beach (2017); and A. Thomas Ferreira Gallery, Long Beach (2017). She is the recipient of the 2020 Joan and David Lincoln Endowment for Ceramic Art.
