About the Artist.
Reynaldo Rivera is a Mexican-born, Los Angeles-based artist whose early photographs documented Latinx life in Los Angeles during the 1980s and 1990s, particularly in nightlife. His photographs captured early drag shows, dance parties, and the communities that embraced and uplifted Latinx queer folks in the city at that time.
Amina Cruz is a photographer whose work documents the queer punk scene and informal concerts and events that were prominent in Los Angeles in the early 2000’s. Their work picks up where Rivera’s early work left off, bringing attention to a younger generation of Latinx queer folks.
César García-Alvarez is the Founding Executive & Artistic Director of The Mistake Room.
